Ask well in advance and not only can you get the boxes you need for free, you will also be able to set aside time to pack more for yourself, cutting the amount you need to pay to the removal firm.

Make the most of the fact that you have to contact your utility providers and check out that you are getting a good deal on electricity and gas. Search on utility price comparison sites to see what is on offer, and tell your provider that you are switching to a better deal as they may offer to match or better it.
