I really liked this coffee pot until this evening. After grating on my poor husband for filling the pot wrong as there was water all over the cabinet and floor he refilled it. Well after cleaning water up the second time we filled it over the sink. The water just poured out the bottom. This morning perfect coffee...this evening want to throw it in the trash. It is only 3 months old.

5 months and it blew

After having this same coffee maker for 2 years we decided to re-buy as we did like the look. The previous one began to randomly brew only 4-6 cups of the 12 which we would have to restart to continue to brew. It also began to leak water all over the counter. The clock had quit after only about 1 year. The coffee is VERY slow to brew but the flavor was o.k.

Big mistake to re-buy!!The second time we bought the coffee pot just made a loud pop and the entire 12 cups of water leaked all over after only 5 months.

WARNING!!! Stay away from this coffeemaker. I wish we had learned the first time.

Well, mine works great.

Don't have the problems these other people seem to have. Bought mine at BJ's, it works great. I never tried the water filter gimmick attachment, so I can't say if that would cause a problem.

Worked fine for 1 year

I bought this machine about 1 year ago. I agree 100% with the other reviews that the carafe doesn't seem to "fit" right into the machine - and I have experienced a few overflows due to this issue. Otherwise, the machine worked okay until yesterday. I went to put the carafe into the machine and it wouldn't fit at all, couldn't even wiggle it in. I did some looking and it turns out a piece of plastic in the brewing mechanism was broken. This piece is critical to the brew process - I tried brewing without it and the coffee wouldn't come out and simply brewed into the machine. I tried searching Mr. Coffee's website for a replacement but they don't sell one and neither does Amazon. Guess that means I have to shell out $45 for a new machine, 1 year later.

In summary, the machine works fine for a while, but my next purchase will be on a machine that can last more than 12 months.

Worked well for a year, then broke

We were relatively satisfied with this coffee maker for a year and then it inexplicably stopped working. Next time, (which is now) instead of just buying from a retailer, we will research online first.

Don't waste your time.

I have owned this coffee maker for eight months. Recently, through no fault of its own, the carafe broke so now I am in the market for a new coffee maker. I would not consider for a second buying this same machine. I could just replace the carafe but I would still have to put up with the same aggravations. Initially it worked great and I was thrilled with the features of this product. However, one day it just stopped brewing. After looking in the owner's manual I realized that it had been just about the amount of time that the recommend cleaning it. Once I figured out that it absolutely had to be cleaned once a month I was OK with it. However over the following months it needed cleaning more and more frequently to continue operating properly. I had cleaned the machine just a couple weeks prior to the carafe breaking and it had gotten to the point where it would take 10-12 minutes to brew four cups. In a summary I think this is a coffee maker with great features that are poorly executed.

Best Coffee Maker I've Ever Owned!

I bought this coffee maker used(like new) for $25, and works awesome! Not only that, it showed up 2 days earlier than expected. It came with a re-usable filter and a package of disposables. Great deal!
