Oil museum

Before a few years Bahrain was known for its oil rigs many European countries imported oil from Bahrain. This museum showcases the history of oil and petroleum industry in Bahrain. It consists of various photographs, models of drilling equipments and the working model of an oil rig. National and international tourists come here in large numbers. This museum was inaugurated in the year 1992 to celebrate 60th anniversary of the discovery of oil in Bahrain. After that legendary discovery Bahrain had become the first country to do so.

Arad Fort

This is an old fort which was built in the 15th century. It is famous of its historical significance. This prestigious fort has seen many ups and downs of Bahrain. It was renovated in the year 1800 after it was being partially destroyed in the Omani invasion. At that time this fort had served as the central military hub. This ancient fort is situated in the island of Muharraq which is joined to the mainland by Sheikh isa bin salman causeway. There are lot of places to see near the fort. It has been the favorite of many students because of its historical importance. Various performances of traditional shows have been held in the fore court on Friday and Thursday afternoons.

AAli village

If you have been to Bahrain and yet not visited this village it is a huge loss dear friend. This small village has a history of cottage industry which has been passed by many generations. The reason is the nature of clay available here. The clay is a unique blend of two types which is perfect for making pots and other products. They have the expertise in making bread ovens, pots for trees, pipes and money boxes. The Delmon pottery and fine arts centre is located in this island.

Grand Mosque

Bahrain is a Muslim country and has great respect towards Islam. The grand mosque is an important place to visit in Bahrain. The architecture and Arabic design gives the viewers an exotic feel. The grand mosque has the capacity to accommodate more than 7,000 worshippers. People from all over Bahrain come to this religious place.
