My Grandpa Went Fishing - Fishing on The Tree!
My Grandpa Went Fishing - Fishing on The Tree!
Grandpa never gives up; this is a rule of thumb for him. He always tries to do his best when it comes to fishing, and sure his fellow fisherman supports him, they are both fond of fishing and anything related to it. Grandpa knows some places, and the right time to go fishing in. His choice is based on some factors like year season, wind direction, water level and so many other parameters that - in his opinion - any professional fisherman should know. After doing his calculations, Grandpa selected another place that was ready for an old expert fisherman to catch a lot of fishes. As usual he phoned his fellow fisherman and they agreed on the trip time and preparations, and also - as usual - very early in the morning they headed towards this place.
The place was a quite fresh water lake, which was surrounded by trees in the spot they like to fish. Grandpa and his fellow reached the spot really early; before sun rise. They unpacked all their equipment, prepared their fishing rods and fresh bait. The day looked promising and they started to catch small fishes which they considered a perfect start.
After a while, Grandpa felt he caught a big fish, so he started pulling it slowly out of the water, it was something heavy but he was not sure what it was exactly. When it got near to him, he made a sudden pull from the water, and that big thing flew in the air and oops... it took the hooks and the fishing line into the top of one of the trees around them. Grandpa tried by all means to pull his hooks from above the tree without cutting them; which surprised his fellow fisherman. 'Why don't you just cut the fishing line?' said fellow fisherman.
Grandpa replied: 'what?! Do you want me to cut it, don't you see.. it is moving?' then he resumed "I bet this is a big size fish".. "What else it could be?"
Fellow fisherman replied "I'm not sure, but it could be anything. You don't need to waste your time on that." Grandpa: "No way, I'm not leaving this big hunt".
Grandpa kept searching for some solution and finally he found a young man passing by, Grandpa asked him for help, and to climb the tree to get the 'big hunt' from over there. The young man was polite enough and agreed to do it. He climbed the tree and released the hooks for Grandpa and dropped them on the ground, and for no surprise the big hunt was just a 'big old shoe'! But how come it was moving?!
One of the hooks was catching a small fish, but unluckily the other hook was catching a 'big shoe', and sure Grandpa felt the fish movement and thought this heavy weight was for the fish. Grandpa unhooked the 'big shoe' and kept laughing with his fellow and of course the young man. It was a strange incident but they never imagined that the more strange is yet to come.
Suddenly they found the fishing rod of Grandpa moving on the ground, and looking for the reason, they found a dog eating the bait! They tried to prevent him but it was too late, the dog already swallowed the bait and hooked himself! The dog run, dragging Grandpa's fishing rod behind him. They kept looking to the scene, not believing that this could ever happen. The young man managed to catch the dog and the fishing rod. Luckily they managed to take the dog to a veterinarian, who helped the dog and took the hook out without harming the dog. Grandpa decided later that fishing beside trees is a very bad idea, under any circumstances. The day was over, but they didn't stop laughing all the way home.
