My Perfect News Channel

As Murdoch struggles with his pay wall strategy hear is my take on what I would be willing to pay for:

I want to receive the varying types of news I want when I want, in what format I want, to whatever device I want. From this channel I can communicate to my friend or business groups, I want to have access to any of the content text, image or video and be able to use it subject to a small fee and sensible copy write constraints.

I want to be able to publish content to my or any community of my choosing. I pay a monthly fee and am charged once usage above a certain prefixed amount of data I consume. Various suppliers will be able to invite me to purchase items through the channel relative to my choices and consumer behaviour.

Whenever possible any advertising I am exposed to will be non intrusive and I would like the option to be able to choose or block certain classes. I want to enjoy an excellent communication channel which will include video mail and conferencing as part of my subscription. I want to be able to run and operate my own web site or Blog from this platform. I expect to see the platform develop various utilities services so that I can keep check if I am achieving value.

Depending on my usage and to what extent I would use the channel for business I would be prepared to spend between 30 to 100 per month. I also want to be able to access a directory and make know my business services though video and text and images .I want also to be able to inform, influence and join users groups to promote and at the same time acquire business intelligence. I want to be able to communicate automatically with any one on this directory by email, video mail, and phone, mobile (voip). I should not need to go or think about anywhere else.

As newspapers especially the local newspapers are discovering if you don't deliver what people want, the news element is actually secondary and will never have any real value other than to be what it's always been a conduit to advertising revenue in a medium that is rapidly shrinking.
