Though the list of famous United's in English football is quite long but the Newcastle United was the first team who merged the two inter-city teams and it was NUFC who kicked the ball off.

Previously the validity of this move was doubtful and so in order to remove this doubt, new club merged with another club in 1910. Thus NUFC, again trumps the feat.
