Nagarhole National Park: also known as "Rajiv Gandhi National Park"

, is located 94 kilometers from Mysore in Karnataka in South India. It is spread between Kodagu district and Mysore district. Located to the northwest of Bandipur National Park, Kabini reservoir separates the two. The exclusive hunting reserve of the former rulers of Mysore, the park has rich forest cover, small streams, valleys, and waterfalls.

Near Nagarhole, in the Kings Sanctuary jungle resorts, wildlife spotting is made easy, as animals gather on the banks of the Kabini River. There are elephants, monkeys, sloth bears and even panthers, and crocodiles live in the river. The former Mysore Maharajas' hunting here has now become the Kabini River, a resort for those who want their wildlife with a bit of luxury.

Nagarhole and Kabini are all easy to get to from Mysore or Bangalore. Wildlife spotting starts already during the drive through the parks, as monkeys gather on the road and spotted deer stare at passing vehicles from the forest.
