Nba Tickets - Power Rankings
Here are the 10 best NBA teams as I see them as of December 21
, 2009, listed in order.
Los Angeles Lakers: They are the unquestioned cream of the crop in the NBA right now as far as I'm concerned, the number one team in the land. The Lakers seem to be on track to repeat as champions this season, as they look even stronger than they did last year. NBA tickets to see this squad allow fans to see a finely-tuned machine made up of the some of the best pieces in the league.
Kobe Bryant is having another stellar season and the team has really picked things up since Pau Gasol returned from injury. Gasol is still one of the more underrated players in the league. Throw in two physically dominant players in Andrew Bynum and Ron Artest, and you've got the best team in the league, hands down.
Boston Celtics: The Celtics are rolling along in the Eastern Conference. Kevin Garnett has adjusted his role to suit his aging knees and the team seems to be doing fine. They may not keep up this pace all season, though, as the age of their stars is likely to slow them down a bit, but Rajon Rondo is capable of carrying this team for stretches. The organization was right to lock him up over the offseason.
Orlando Magic: They're the deepest team in the league and have shown it by barely missing a beat through the Rashard Lewis suspension and the Jameer Nelson injury. Dwight Howard has not improved offensively, but it doesn't seem to matter. This roster goes deeper than any other in the league and the Magic are looking strong.
Cleveland Cavaliers: The Shaq experiment has not been great thus far, but LeBron James is yet again having a fantastic season. He has to do more than any other player in the league on a nightly basis, but seems capable of keeping this team near the top of the East all by himself. Come playoff time, though, that won't fly.
Atlanta Hawks: The Hawks look really good this season. Josh Smith is playing within himself and is the leading candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. Joe Johnson is having another great year and Jamal Crawford has become the sixth man that this team sorely needed.
Dallas Mavericks: People tend to dog Dirk Nowitzki for some reason, but the fact of the matter is that he's one of the best scorers in the league and one of the NBA's best crunch time performers. This team may not have what it takes to down the Lakers, but I could see them reaching the conference finals.
Phoenix Suns: The Suns have come out hot, but they've gotten beaten pretty handily by some quality opponents. Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire are playing very well, but without Nash their offense appears stagnant at times. Their lack of depth worries me.
Denver Nuggets: The Nuggets have struggled a bit as of late with Chauncey Billups hurt. Ty Lawson has proven to be a steal at where they got him in the draft, though. I'm not sure this team has what it takes mentally to return to the conference finals.
San Antonio Spurs: Say what you want about their slow start, but this team will be there in the end. They're still gelling as a unit and you won't see anyone in this organization panicking.
Houston Rockets: I love this Houston team. The roster is filled with role players and overachievers, which makes for a brand of team basketball that is nice to see in this era of the NBA.
