, held by the state board of nursing to check the whether the candidate is eligible applying for entry- level nursing is eligible for it or not. The NCLEX exams are held for the two different types of nurses i.e. registered nurse and the licensed practical nurse

Eligibility required for appearing in the NCLEX exam

To go through this exam, first of all you need to posses degree in nursing and secondly you have to apply for the nursing license from your state board of nursing and then board will decide whether you are eligible for the examination or not

If your state board of nursing declares that you are eligible for the examination then you will avail ATT letter along with the instructions and important information about the examination. The examination fee is $200 and this fee must be paid before the due date declared by the examining authority.

Preparation of the NCLEX exam

There are various ways to prepare for the exam; there are also some special classes which help the candidates to prepare for the test. In these classes the candidates are taught in best possible manner and the entire course content of the NCLEX exam is taken into consideration. The faculties of such classes are experts of the nursing industry and it is a plus point for the aspirants to get the training from experienced teacher.

Also the sample questions are also available to help the aspirants. There are several sites offering free sample papers for the examination.

There are various books related to the course material and the review questions available in the market. So the candidate has number of options to prepare for the nclex exam.

The course material for the exam is consisted of Safe, Effective Care Environment, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Psychosocial Integrity and Physiological Integrity. The course material is decided by the state board of nursing.

Format of the NCLEX exam

In the Nclex exam for registered nurse minimum 75 numbers of questions and or practical nurse 85 numbers of questions are given under the head choose the correct one. After you are done with the minimum number of questions computer will check your competence level, if your level is above the passing standard, you will pass and if it is below the passing standard it means you are fail. If you are just near to the passing standard then you have to answers some more questions and again your level will be checked. The maximum time given to the candidates to complete the exam is 5 hours. The candidates are not allowed to enter with anything except a pencil and a second watch in the examination hall.Result

It will take at least 1 month for the examination board to publish your result as your exam is checked twice once by the computer and finally by the National Council's testing service. The candidates, who clear the NCLEX exam is get the nursing license along with the permission to work on their respective post.
