Netbook Still Has The Market And Ultrabook Is The Future

Acer's vice president accepted an exclusive interview

. He said ultrabook is the future of notebook, but it still needs several years to become the mainstream. Acer will drive the price ultrabook decline to 5000-6000 yuan in the next year so that the sales will account for 20-30% of Acer's total sales.

This month Acer launched the first Ultrabook that is equipped with Intel i5 processor the Hummingbird S3. The two versions are priced at 7,999 yuan and 9,999 yuan. Rensi thinks that this ultrabook is the future of notebook. It is a manifestation of the latest technology, but it still needs several years to become the mainstream products of the market. He pointed out that in the future Acer will make ultrabook as its featured products. It will introduce the more powerful and ultra-thin ultrabook.

He further said that Acer will promote the further decline in prices. It is expected that in the next year, the price will decline to the level o 5000-6000 yuan. The analyst thinks that ith the price of ultrabook declining; its market share will gradually increase. Rensi expected that sometime in the next year, ultrabook will take over 20% -30% of Acer's total sales of the computer products.

It was expected that the sales of tablet PCs worldwide in 2011 will reach 63.6 million units, an increase of 261.4 percent compared with the 17.6 million units in 2010. Apple iPad's market share will reach 73.4%, lower than the 83% in 2010. With the rapid growth of the Tablet PC, the markets of the netbook and notebook have been significantly affected.

But the analyst thinks that the Tablet PC is different from the notebook computer. The consumers still need full-featured products, so the netbook still has the market space. But it faces major threats from low-cost notebooks. He predicted that the netbook will continue to exist, but will account for 4% -5% market share in the future.

The current Google Andrioid system failed to obtain the reduction in the flat panel market, far less than the smart phone performance. In addition, Google also faces competition from Microsoft.
