The Computer and networks at businesses can be incredibly confusing for some business

owners; it is often why there are so many outsourced IT service contractors and companies. They are there to be called upon when your computers, servers or networks develop faults or problems and assuming the problem isn't preventing it you can easily carry on with your working day. One of the best ways to make your cabling clear is to have labels or tags at each end of the cables, this can save plenty of time and frustration of tracing a cable through a large tangled up ball of cables and take most of the hassle out of your networking issues.

There are other measures such as colour coding which can help when configuring network connections for phones as well as data point or cables going to printers, this again helps identify everything on your network and can prevent someone unplugging the wrong cable causing even more disruption to your business.

Some businesses will pick their times to get vital work like this done at the weekend or any holiday periods where their work will cause the least amount of disruption and if any problems arise then they can be rectified without any problems to the business. Hiring an external IT team or getting this done in house is possible but when you think about the cost remember how much time and money this process could save you in the future with any other jobs which could have been hindered by a messy server room and mixed up cables.

There are a lot of potential problems when it comes to network cabling so make sure you bear this in mind when you set up your company's network and infrastructure.
