New Brunswick cops seeking 2nd suspect in drive-by shooting that wounded 2

Darren Fordham, 18, of South Brunswick is being sought on charges of attempted murder and possession of a handgun, police said

Officers responded at 1 a.m. Saturday to a shooting outside a Wright Place home, Lt. J.T. Miller said. They arrived to find that two female Franklin residents, ages 17 and 19, had both been shot while sitting on the stoop of the home.

Investigators determined the shots were fired from a car, he said. One victim was struck in the torso, while the other was struck in the shoulder.

They were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with injuries that were serious but not considered life-threatening, Miller said.

The lieutenant said police are looking into whether the incident is related to the fatal shooting in Franklin late Friday. Somerset County authorities said an 18-year-old Somerset man was fatally wounded in the incident on Irvington Avenue, while a second teenager was in critical condition.

The shooting on Wright Place is not related to the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old New Brunswick High School freshman around 3 a.m. Saturday, Miller said.

An investigation into the New Brunswick shooting led to the arrest of Brandon, he said. Brandon was being held Monday at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick in lieu of $250,000 bail, with no 10-percent cash mlb jerseys option.
