New Honda's Take Risky Strategy To Boost Sales
Japanese motor vehicle giant Honda has unveiled a new plan hoping to boost sales
of its new Honda CBR600RR motorcycle by releasing a very risky and daring design.
The new model features the face of an aroused woman on the side fairing of the bike, which has been stylishly created in a black and white paint scheme. The new Honda also features a number of other peculiar features including an eight ball, a set of dice, a key, a skull and crossbones and some dollar bills to name just a few of the unusual additions.
The paint scheme on the new Honda CBR600RR is certainly unique and it is likely to be something that will help the company to obtain a new corner of the market, however, whether this new design will appeal to all remains to be seen.
The design has been implemented very subtly by the company and even passed some journalists by at the launch. It was only when sales representatives pointed out that there was a woman hiding in the picture that the media steamroller started to gather pace. Some claimed that the design was imaginative and original, while others claimed that the new Honda was set to flop catastrophically as there was no call for this type of design in the market.
Whatever the result the company has managed to achieve one key goal about releasing a new product and that is to get it talked about. Whenever people talk about the Honda CBR600RR now, discussions turn instantly to the new paint scheme.
It seems a shame in a way as the motorcycle by itself is an incredible piece of machinery, featuring a host of technological enhancements including the new C-ABS system, which helps to eliminate accidents via Honda's new balanced braking dynamic.
When a rider experiences the need for heavy braking and applies a significant amount of front brake, the on-board computer calculates this and equally applies a similar amount of brake pressure to the rear brake, stabilising the bike and helping to avoid any gyroscopic effect that may otherwise be experienced.
It is amazing to see how balanced, control and advanced today's motorcycles have become. The changes that have taken place between the bikes of the 1990's and today is incredible and it makes the two bikes as different as chalk and cheese. It will be interesting to see if the new paint scheme has overshadowed the technology, but either way I don't think I will be purchasing my new Honda with this extreme look. Maybe it is something for a different generation.
