New Jersey Toyota News: Celica, Is That You?

The automotive industry has been teeming with amazing new innovations over the past year

, partly due to increased pressure on reform brought about by bankruptcies of the American Big Three manufacturers. Yes, the automotive industry was just about brought to its knees by the recent recession. Media and government representatives introduced the call for greater efficiency in driving. But these pressures have ultimately spawned a much wider movement for progression, innovation and a more refined style across all classes of vehicle.

One of the main manufacturers making headlines this year has been Toyota. If youve visited your New Jersey Toyota dealership in 2009, you may have noticed a couple of important new vehicles, like the Toyota Prius and the more affordable and fuel-efficient versions of the popular Corolla and Camry models. But the most recent news hints that Toyota might be bringing back its long dead Celica brand in a brand new incarnation. The Toyota FT-86 is yet unnamed, and some Newark Toyota service providers are buzzing that this is where the Celica title may come in.

A big part of this new hub-bub is the recent announcement that Toyota might outfit the FT-86 with a convertible version. The FT-86 is sporty and sleek, employing solid engine technology to offer an experience that sports car enthusiasts have to come to expect. Never before has such a stunning, stylish car appeared on New Jersey Toyota showroom floors, and were thinking that youll be happy with the results.

Debuting at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Toyota FT-86 concept car stunned show attendees with its swoopy styling. The concept vehicle is the result of a joint venture between Toyota and Subaru, one that I hope produces more cars of this kind. While it wont see Newark used Toyota dealer showroom floors for several years, the FT-86 will definitely be debuting in one form or another over the next year or so.

The FT-86 is 163.7 inches long, 69.3 inches wide and 49.6 inches high, with a wheelbase of 101.2 inches. The vehicle is pretty compact and smaller in every which way than the 370Z except for the wheelbase. While the 370Z is available already, the FT-86 wont reach your Newark Toyota service location for quite some time. But as soon we get there, stop on in to check out the car based on the concept that has drivers raving.

While the sports car isnt out of style, Toyota has also been working on refining affordable, quality vehicles like the Prius to stay on the industrys cutting-edge in terms of fuel efficiency. The Japanese manufacturer has been hard at work revolutionizing an auto industry that could benefit from more progressive thinkers. Its nice to see that, while the Prius is certainly an important car, Toyota is giving attention to all of its vehicles, rather than the ones that are making waves in the media. You can find the Prius and many more dependable, affordable cars at your local Newark used Toyota dealer. So stop in today.
