The Magentis only comes with one engine choice, a 2.0 litre 147bhp diesel. On paper the engine sounds quite powerful and has plenty of grunt to hurl the Magentis along but the reality is that the engine does not deliver under 2000rpm and runs out of grunt at 4000rpm.

The Magentis is very comfortable and compliant on the road; motorways bring out the best of the handling particularly with its nimble steering and positive feedback coming through from the wheels.

The 2.0 CRDi TR 4 door saloon costs 18,995, a lot of market pundits are predicting the Magentis to be popular with the older generation, so expect to see a few New Kia Magentis in Dorset.
