New Years Eve DC Party
This year, I'm going to a New Years Eve DC party. I'm so excited! Last year, my friends went to the same party basically (they are both hosted by Professionals in the City). I couldn't go with them because my parents had already bought me tickets to go watch the ball drop in New York City with them. After I heard what a good time they had, I was really jealous, and I wished I had gone with them.
My friend Kenzie was one of the people who went. She met a really cute guy at the speed dating event at the party that night. I didn't know what speed dating was until she explained it to me. I decided it sounded like fun, so I subscribed to the Pros in the City newsletters and have been staying on top of their events since new year's eve dc.
So, I read their e-mails every week. Finally, I got the e-mail about this year's New Years Eve DC dance party! I called Kenzie and the others who went last year to tell them that tickets had become available. We all put the date on our calendar and started inviting other people. We had a group of 7 going then 3 more people said they would come. Pros gave us a $10 discount on each of our tickets. We purchased them immediately because we did not want them to sell out.
Next week, Kenzie, our friends Megan and Courtney, and I are going dress shopping for New Years Eve in DC. Last year's theme colors were red and yellow; this year, black and blue are in style. We want to look perfect! Since none of us have dates, we plan to stick together, so we want to coordinate somewhat. I plan on buying a "little black dress". Kenzie and Courtney prefer blue dresses. They are thinking about wearing matching dresses, and Megan and I might do the same.
The guys in our group are even more excited than we are, I think. Last year's New Years Eve DC alcohol selection was really awesome. I think they expect it to be the same way this year. This year's performer is a surprise. We're all taking guesses and making bets about who we think it will be. I can't wait!
