Nfl Apparel Heating Up As The Weather Cools Down

For most people around the country, fall means one thing: NFL football every Sunday and every Monday night

. The NFL has long since overtaken baseball as our true national pastime, and every year as the weather starts cooling down football starts heating up.

Along with our rising interests in football come a rising interest in NFL apparel at this time of the year. We all have our favorite team and our favorite players, and we all want to be decked out in support for them. It's no surprise then that the NFL apparel industry is worth billions of dollars and that jerseys, hats and shirts are bestsellers every holiday season.

Here are some of the biggest story lines that people have been paying attention to so far this season to help give you a head start on your shopping and preparations.

First of all, by far the most prevalent topic of discussion has been Brett Favre's return to football with the Minnesota Vikings. Favre has been playing some of the best football of his career and the team has a real chance at making a deep playoff run. If he continues t play like this he will certainly silent all of his critics for good. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have Adrian Peterson carrying the football and Jared Allen rushing the quarterback to help you out.

Another big storyline this season has been that the league is surprisingly top heavy and bottom heavy. That means that there are a few very good teams, and a load of really terrible teams. This is opposed to typical NFL seasons in which there is a good deal of parity.

Also interesting is the surprise starts of some teams. For example the Tennessee Titans are winless thus far, which is in stark contrast to their 13-0 start from last season. Meanwhile the Jets led by rookie Mark Sanchez have been playing surprisingly well, and the New Orleans Saints helmed by Drew Brees have emerged as a real force in the NFC. Unfortunately for Redskins fans, the team is suffering through more turmoil after another promising off season.

This is just the beginning of the action and drama that unfolds each and every week in the NFL. NFL apparel is a hot ticket item this fall, and will continue to heat up as the thermometer gets lower and the holidays sneak up on us.
