Nissan Juke The Coolest Crossover By Far

Sure an Italian sports car would get you noticed

. But why bankrupt yourself when Nissans trendy head-turner Juke guarantees the same result at a mere fraction of the price. Since making its international debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010, the bold, beautiful and definitely different Juke has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity the world over. And it only takes one quick glance to see why.

Nissans design team spared no detail on the Jukes innovative exterior and interior styling. Apart from its distinctive shape, elements that wont go unnoticed include unique split front headlight fittings, boomerang-shaped taillights, a predatory grille, muscular wheel arches and hidden door handles. Inside the Juke draws inspiration from motorcycle components as is clearly visible in its gauges and fuel tank-shaped centre console.

Four 1.6L models complete the current Juke series with its top-of-the-range 6-speed Tekna derivative packing quite a punch with 140kW of power and 240Nm of torque while its 5-speed Acenta and Acenta+ models both deliver 86kW and 158Nm. To optimise your vehicles performance and have it adapt to your driving conditions, the top two Juke models offer three driver modes: Drive, Sport and Eco. Drive mode will see to all your acceleration requirements, Sport mode improves and firms steering response, while Eco mode reduces energy and fuel consumption while the air conditioning is in use.

The 5-door crossover Juke also offers plenty of space, a 5 Star Euro NCAP safety rating and loads of model dependent luxury features including cruise control, electric windows, a keyless entry system, Bluetooth and an advanced audio system with USB and iPod connectivity. Plus, with various trim and accessory packs available, Nissan makes it possible for you to add your individual styling stamp to your Juke.

The Jukes cool kid on the block appeal has also prompted Nissan and other companies to take its design and performance to the max with unique model offerings. Ministry of Sound, a UK-based nightclub and event company, for example created the Juke Box revamping the crossover to include a custom-built 6-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, a PA system and mobile DJ booth. Nissan is also planning to launch the limited Juke Midnight Edition in the States in 2013, which will feature a sapphire black rear roof spoiler, sapphire black mirror caps and 17 black wheels. Probably the most talked about Juke of all, is the Nissan Juke-R. At roughly 30 times the price of the base Juke, Nissan has promised to release only a limited number of the 3.8L twin turbo V6 driven beasts. Whats next for the Juke? Watch this space
