No Beaches In Orlando... Ah, Doesnt Matter.

Orlando isn't a place where you will find beaches to go and relax or more importantly cool off

. But don't fear as they have places that are suitable replacements and are potentially more fun. These places are water parks that are theme parks dedicated to the watery aspect of fun.

Disney has two dedicated water parks. One of them is Typhoon Lagoon, the park opened on June 1 1989 and is home to the largest outdoor wave pool. The park's theme is according to Disney legend a typhoon that wreaked havoc upon on a glorious pristine tropical paradise. This saw ships, fishing gear and surfboards thrown about all over the Island. The centrepiece of the park is Miss Tilly which is a shrimp boat impaled upon a mountain named Mayday that erupts a 50 foot geyser of water every half hour, this is right before the bells of the watch sound on Miss Tilly. The parks' mascot is the Lagoona Gator. The park gets roughly over 2 million visitors a year this makes it the most visited water park in the world.

The other water park is Blizzard Beach, this was the third released Walt Disney Water park. The oldest park was Disney's River Country which closed on January 20, 2005, this was mainly due to the fact that it was the least popular water park out of the three and was smaller. In fact it was four times smaller that Blizzard Beach. Blizzard Beach was opened in 1995. The theme of Blizzard Beach according to Disney Legend a freak snowstorm in the area hit the area leading to the construction of Florida's first ski resort but thanks to the climate change in Florida, the snow melted leaving behind a collection of waterlogged but snow-less ski jumps and chair lifts. Due to no more snow the Resort was in the process of closing but an alligator was seen sliding down a flume and splashing into a pool of water, screaming "Yahooooooooooooo!" Thus the "ski resort" was reborn as a water park. The alligator is the mascot of the park and is named Ice Gator and he is related to Lagoona Gator. The park gets just under 2 million visits thus making it the second most visited water park in the world. The majority of major attractions are located on top of Mount Gushmore which is an artificial hill with an elevation 90 feet, making it the fifth highest point in Florida.

There is a water park that isn't owned by Disney, but is owned by Universal studios, it is called Wet 'n Wild and is the first major water park in the United States. Founded by George Millay in Orlando, Florida on June 11, 1977 is has officially been called the Father of the Water park. This water park has been featured in various music videos.

All of these places are situated near each other so it may be best to look at some Orlando vacation rentals so you can hop around the three easily in the same way you would if you were going to various beaches.
