A common question people ask is how you are supposed to obtain all of your Abyss

gear and other things (such as the new Stigma Stones available as of patch 1.5) when it is so hard to obtain the Abyss Points. To assist with that, here is a short run-through of how the Abyss Points work.

When killing other players, your Abyss Rank influences not only how many points you obtain from killing the enemy but also how many they will obtain from you. Along with this, it also has a direct influence on how many points you lose when you die.

As you obtain more points, your Abyss Rank will go up, making it harder to obtain more and more points.

Due to this, the trick is to buy your items as you get enough points for them. When you purchase items it will re-calibrate your Abyss Rank accordingly, ensuring you are back to your maximum capacity for obtaining more points again. For example:

To make this easier to illustrate, let us assume each item is 5000 points and the ranks go up at 5000, 10000, 15000 points.

You need three items, so it may seem easier to just wait until you have the 15000 points. However, the trick is to purchase your items each as soon as you get the 5000 required, one at a time.

When you get 5000 points your Abyss Rank goes up to 8 (since it counts down). You then spend those points to obtain your new item, and your rank goes back up to 9! This allows you to start over again, earning more Abyss Points than you would if you were 8 again.

The only time you should let your Abyss Points rack up is when you already have all of the items you need from the vendor and are ready to work towards getting your rank up as high as possible.
