Ode To Our Shoes: Each Shoe Is Telling A Story

Shoes, as we all know, are the indispensable elements in our daily lives

, and actually we spend most of our walking days in shoes, from baby booties to orthopedic sandals. Because we need shoes to save ourselves from any unpredictable circumstances we face, basically. In this case, buying shoes endlessly no matter how much they increase in price is one of the must-do things for us. Moreover, shoes can reflect our culture, history, even ourselves truly, just like one meaningful story.

We wear our hearts on our soles. "Shoes are the best indicator of how people are feeling," says June Swann, a shoe historian based in Northampton, England. To hear Swann tell it, you can chart the rise and fall of prosperity from the elevation of a heel; hear the distant rumblings of war in the configuration of a toe; measure social change by the thickness of a sole. Each shoe is telling a story. Last, far from least, they can be drop-dead gorgeous.

We wear shoes to protect our feet, to walk. Some people wear shoes just to let the world know that they do not have to walk. There is a pair of 19th century Sioux mocasins. The entire mocasins (including the soles) are made of exquisite beads. People who are not on a horse can see the soles of the moccasins.

From the shoes we can learn more about ourselves, for instance, In the summer sandals are my favorite, I go everywhere with my sandals except playing sports. Actually, I prefer snadals if the weather permitted, they are comfortable and easy to put on and take off..so what is that tell about me. maybe I don't take things too seriously or maybe I just want to slack off when I can..or maybe I don't want a complicated life..may not be true. Says one of my friends.

Take me as the example. I prefer to all kinds of custom painted sneakers, but not the high heels. Its something of a torture thing in the high heels, because I cannot run, even walk faster and my feet cannot bear neither. Perhaps, the lifestyle I most want to own is the casual one without any constraint.
