Everyone wants the best supplies for the office
. This is no surprise, with the escalating costs of office or business supplies, managers and business owners are confronted with a choice - quantity or quality?
When Quality Counts:
Office workers can be careless with office supplies. They print too many copies before discovering errors in the main body of their reports or they keep on misplacing small items. writing implements, post-it notes and highlighters. Some record books are not fully filled up and these are immediately replaced with new ones. What a waste! What to do?
Quality paper cannot be compromised and you need tons of this and the same goes for writing implements. What use is the paper if it is not compatible with your printer and what's the logic behind purchasing pens that don't write? Instead of saving money you lose money as buying inferior quality products is not cost effective.
Perhaps you will also decide on a cheaper chair or work station. If people grumble that they get back aches and neck pains and you hear whines about screws starting to stick out of their work stations, you only have yourself to blame. Comfort and efficiency can never be sacrificed or you'll have a mutiny in your ship as well as breaching health and safety regulation.
The solution is to buy quality supplies. It also helps to make employees accountable for everything they use. This way, they will be more prudent in their use of paper and pens and will be more conscious of caring for their office desks and workstations.

The volume of paperwork in any office is pretty high. There are forms to fill up and file, communications to prepare and distribute and figures to record and file away. How then can you save money here? Buy the paper in bulk and get cheaper ink cartridges for your printer. You will be amazed at the savings you make over the course of a year!
Forget about pricier staples, paper clips and post-it notes. It is a mistake to presume the cheaper items are inferior because many cheaper brands work just as fine. You can buy a month's supply of these office and business supplies without feeling the pinch. But just the same, these are expenses you have to monitor. Prepare a master list of all your supplies and record the date of the purchase, this way you can easily keep tabs of supplies that need restocking before these run out and check who is using more than needed!
Your Choice:
What is it for you? Quantity or quality? Whatever your choice, it is still prudent to keep tabs of your expenses and make your workers understand that wasting all that paper and losing writing instruments won't do your business any good. If they see it this way, they will cooperate happily, as long as you provide them comfortable office furniture, efficient working machines as well as quality office supplies.
Think about it, quality supplies are equated with greater output, so train your sights on office equipment and furniture. As to consumable office supplies, pinch pennies and stretch your budget without making compromises on quality.
