Omega 3 May Help Win The Battle Of The Bulge

Almost daily stories crop up in the newspapers and tabloids on how to get rid of belly fat

. Something you rarely read is that Omega 3 can help you win that battle. A diet rich in omega 3 will not burn the fat all by itself but it is an added benefit. Along with eating properly, doing a bit of weight lifting, and reducing the amount of alcohol you drink, omega 3 may help to reduce that stomach bulge.

Doing 100 sit ups a day wont give you a flat stomach. You may need to take more pain killers to ease your sore back but your stomach bulge won't budge. The bulge comprises mostly of fat. If you strengthen your stomach muscles, it will help pull that fat in a bit but not eliminate it entirely. Try doing more over all training to get stronger. Squats and weight lifting can help to make your body stronger. When you are stronger, you tend to walk taller and will find that you may be pulling your stomach in a little instead of letting it hang out.

You need to be a bit more active in order to shed the flab around your waistline. Doing the weight lifting will help, if you're slim, you could be more active than couch potatoes. An after dinner walk could be a good starting point. A 15 minute walk 3 days a week will really get you going. After that, you may feel like adding a little jog to your walk. You're sure to find it quite addictive.

Your overweight problems can be addressed by healthy eating habits. Most of us can't resist binge eating, but we need to restrain ourselves. If you eat junk food all through the day, it will only help you build that bulge, not shrink it.


A lot of people are doing the low carbohydrate diet. Cutting out the carbohydrates will help you knock off some of that mass. It is not advisable to eliminate the carbohydrates totally. Carbohydrates are the foods that give us energy. Cutting back on potatoes, bread, pasta and rice and substituting them with brown rice, oats, whole grain pasta could be helpful.

And do eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. Eating vegetables that are not high in carbohydrates are the best. Fruits like bananas, oranges, and apples are always a good choice. They are ideal for the late night kitchen raid.


Inclusion of proteins in the diet is also very important. Eating more meat consisting of the omega 3 fat. Add fish to your menu a couple of times a week along with chicken, eggs, cottage cheese and some lean cuts of meat.

Then we have the fats. We think that fats are bad for us, right? Thats what we have been told for over 45 years or so. Now remember that, not all fats are bad for you. You do need some fat in your diet. Fats we get from eating fish rich in Omega 3 are excellent fats for us to consume. Getting more omega 3 into your diet if by eating more fish or taking supplements will raise your level of testosterone and increase your ability to loose fat. Taking 6g of omega 3, 3 times a day is a good way to start. You should forego other types of fats, the trans-fatty ones like butter out of your diet or only use at a minimum. They will help you keep that bulge.

These are just some of the tips on how you can loose that belly fat. Its a good start. You need to build strength, eat better adding omega 3 to your daily intake, do a bit of cardio work out 3 days a week, and cut back on your alcohol. Do all of this, and you are on your way to a flatter stomach.
