Call it conditioning. Call it anything, but it is a known fact that the best place on earth to feel at home is the - well, it's the home. At home you can do the things you normally won't do even in a motel. You can dress in your worst clothes, laze about all day, doodle on the chair, and get as messy as possible. You can even twinge up your guitar a little and jam all through the night. This, of course, assuming you do have a guitar you can play. If you do not have one, what's stopping you? You're home now, why don't you try it? Put down that pen and paper, and sidle up to your computer, let's get trained online!

To effectively employ the services of the online opportunity, you should be cleared on the options from the beginning. You should first of all have a guitar you are comfortable with, and a start up program that will launch you in your guitar plans. This start up program need not be something elaborate, a video or audio CD, maybe, but one that will show you, the greenhorn, the ropes. With time, though, as you progress, you will need to move on to more basic and challenging aspects of the guitar training program.

Keep in mind that the whole learning process should be fun, and not one determined, monotonous, colorless task. Why, music is the color of the world, and if it gets boring, oh my, what a disaster! Even if it might get interesting in the basics, you will still have to leave it sometime for the bigger picture. Bear in mind that you will need incentives or motivation, if you like, for playing and learning. I find that the thought of being able to play a particular piece of music works best in this instance. What I mean by this is this: as you play on, you should put your mind to the fact that, on perfecting this stage, you should be able to play a particular item of music. What fun it will then turn out to be.

Another side to the fun is the one offered by the fact that you will be learning via audiovisuals, which put a novel feel to the whole stint. A noteworthy advantage to learning online is the fact that you can keep practicing in secret for a long period before anyone catches on. Hence, nobody knows what you are doing so when you decide to pick up a guitar and ACTUALLY produce music in front of your friends, well, surprise, surprise!

Remember to start with the basics. Learn to trust in yourself, and build your confidence level. It might take some time, but eventually, that guitar will cooperate with you, and you will find yourself amazingly wielding the ability to control the guitar so it does your every musical bidding.
