Online Jobs – Survey Sites and Scams (Part 1)
Online Jobs Survey Sites and Scams (Part 1)
So you've read all about doing online paid surveys to gain extra income but where are the real ones? I'm sure many of you have been frustrated at the many fake survey sites that pull shenanigans on you and irritate the hell out of you. Refusing to pay, cancelling your account for some fake reason just when you're about to be able to cash out, giving you a few surveys at the start and then not sending you any more survey invitations anymore.
So how do you decide if an online survey website can be trusted and will not waste your time? Here are a few tips on how to find a reliable survey site to get money.
1. Site Layout & Design
An unprofessional looking page will most probably correspond to a fake survey site. These scammers usually do not bother too much about how their website turns out to be like, as they target people who want to make quick bucks, and these people act on impulse, thus do not think much before signing up.
Sites with a simple background colour and with lots of testimonials on the homepage tend to be scams. Look out for messy layouts and walls of texts with unprofessional hyperlinks to sign up. Usually, real survey sites have buttons linking to their sign up page. They very seldom use CAPS LOCK TO TELL YOU TO SIGN UP.
Scam sites put lots of stories on their homepage, not information about their company. Professional research companies tell you how they work, what they do or some of their history.
Look out for these when you visit the site homepage.
2. Testimonials
Professional research companies usually do NOT put testimonials on their homepage. Even if they do, they are very short. Look out for long stories of how people claim they earn hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars, they are usually scams.
Remember what I said before, scammers target those who want to make it rich quick and do not think much before signing up for anything. As such, they use such deceptive tricks such as overstating gains in order to attract people to sign up. Do not fall into their trap, think before you act. Some scams may be mild and just waste your time; some are more serious and sell your account information. So, think twice before submitting your personal information to suspicious looking sites.
