Optimizing On-page Seo Elements Part 1

With Search Engine Marketing becoming the most important online marketing tool to

attract potential customers, businesses are looking for elements that can increase their websites visibility in search engine result pages. While doing SEO, the importance of Meta tags in improving page rankings cant be ignored. However, there are other SEO elements that when brought into play, can help attract and improve site rankings in search results. These elements are called secondary on-page elements that play a significant role in converting the user experience from good to great. Moreover, it is a matter of fact that websites which convey their content in a precise and uncomplicated manner are rewarded by Google.

Listed below are elements that can help promote a website in search engine result pages thereby making the search engine marketing process even better.

Header Tags (H1, H2, H3, etc)

Earlier, these header tags were used by the authors or copywriters to organize the page content. These were used to create a different content for a different idea. This way, the copy looked more structured and appealing to the readers eye. Though these H tags are not very frequently used today, these are important when seen from an SEO perspective. Often referred to as H1, H2, H3, these header tags help covey topics mentioned in the Meta tags to various search engines. These tags are delineated in source code as heading , where n symbolizes the number of headings. From a Search Engine Optimization viewpoint, H tags outweigh the ordinary text. Bigger the size of heading, better the impact. H1 being the biggest sized heading, has the highest weight followed by H2, H3, H4, etc. They come into view as large, boldfaced font and act as a sub-title of the page content. Placing the first header tag close to the top of the page enables the reader to scan through the little information that the search results page provides and also makes the search engine marketing targets achievable.

Bold Text

From an SEO viewpoint, bold text is more important than the ordinary text, but not as much as header tags. While doing Search Engine Optimization, it helps emphasize the text in the search engine listings. In order to make the search engine marketing process easier, one can put in the search items or the content keywords in bold tags so that it becomes visible on the result pages. Strategically bolding words and phrases in the text helps draw readers attention towards those terms, thereby helping in the promotion of the website. Following source code can be used to make the text appear in bold letters.
