There are many orchid species that you can now find in the market. If really a beginner, then you can just first try to grow Phalaenopsis orchid. This specie is considered as the simplest to grow. You can grow this specie outside or inside your house, whatever your choice will do.

Once decided to grow say some Phalaenopsis orchids, look for some nice pots. Have those with good drainage holes in the bottom. These holes will help in draining excess water. There should not be much water for the roots will absorbed any and will rot.

And place your orchids properly in the pot. Then, place the pots on a stand. They should be on a stand so there will be good air circulation even underneath the roots of your flowering plants. Be sure to do this most especially if growing some indoors.

Then, give your flowering plants some sunlight. But they can't have strong sunlight. Just put them in a place with shade and sun. If indoors, just put them near your house window. Also, give them some water. Each week give them enough water. But be sure that you have pots with good drainage holes in the bottom.
