Organize Your Closet With Clothing Recycling

Organizing your close can be a real challenge when it's stuffed full with clothes

you no longer need or wear, but you should certainly consider clothing recycling as the answer you have been looking for. Recycling clothes is about much more than simply taking them to a thrift store. The key is to go to a clothing recycling facility that can deliver your clothes precisely where they are needed rather than to the charity you happen to drop them off at. And if you have a lot of clothes, you may even be able to get some cash for them! To see how clothing recycling can help with organizing your closet, follow these steps:

Flip through each item of clothing individually and in the order you have them hanging in the closet. Start at the side you don't normally take clothes of. For example, if you have a walk-in closet, start at the back of the closet and work your way forward. This will ensure that you start off by looking at the clothes you don't normally wear.

As you work your way through each individual piece of clothing, start by asking yourself if you have worn the item in the last six months. If the answer is no, then consider whether you have worn it in the last year. If the answer is still no, then you've got a good candidate for the recycle pile.

Also ask yourself if there's anything wrong with each item. If it's just plain worn out, then it's time to toss it. However, if it just needs a button or a hem, then you can toss it into a pile for clothes that need to be mended. As you go through each item, consider also whether they actually fit. This includes those items that you've been trying to squeeze into for quite a while, but they really are too small (we all have one or two of these items!). This is the time to get rid of these items and go shopping for new ones. Recycle them so that someone who actually fits in them can get good use out of them.

Once you've got all of your clothes sorted into piles, it's time to start organizing your closet. Group items together by clothes, pants, and dresses or however else you feel works for you.
