Outlook 'move To Folder' Deletes Email Message

Microsoft Outlook includes 'Move to Folder' option to move an email item to another folder

. To run the tool, you need to select the item(s) to be moved, click 'Move to Folder' option and then select the name of folder to which, you want to move the item(s). On occasion, you might notice that when you use this option, the email item is permanently deleted and you cannot see it in any of the Outlook folders. Such situations compel you to restore the deleted email from the last backup. But if no suitable backup is available or the item is not included, you should look for safe Deleted Email Recovery solutions.

To exemplify, consider a scenario as below:

(1) You use Move to Folder command to move an email message to a Tasks or Calendar folder.

(2) The message being moved is embedded in a new task or calendar.

(3) You do not save this new task or calendar.

Cause

You must convert the items to another form type. Outlook deletes the email message being moved as it views the new form you created as a new message. So, when you close the form and don't save it, Outlook doesn't find anything to which can revert back.

(1) Restore the email from the last backup you have.
