* Hydrangea

According to their Chief Veterinary Medical Officer, Dr. Carol McConnell, there are ways to avoid plant poisoning. One is to try not to give your dog table scraps that may contain raisins, onions or nuts. Also, to make sure that new pets are introduced to a backyard free of sago palms, wild mushrooms, and other toxic plants especially those that are mentioned above..

Here are the most common toxic household cleaners that are very dangerous to animals like dogs and cats when inhaled, touched or ingested:

* Bleach

* Boric acid

* Cleaning fluids

* Dishwashing and laundry detergent and powders

* Disinfectants

* Furniture and metal polish

* Gardening and lawn care chemicals such as fertilizer, weed killer and insecticides

* Oven cleaner

* Rubbing alcohol

* Rodenticides

To avoid ingestion of such chemicals, make sure to wipe down the surfaces and all areas where cleaners have been used with a wet cloth and then dry them, too. While cleaning your appliances, it is important to supervise your animals so they don't get near the area where toxic chemicals are used. Store the cleaning products in a safe place where your pets can't get to.
