PPC - Does Google Hate MLM and Direct Sales? Now What?
If you have been following the changes that Google is making in the last few months you will begin to see a pattern
. An important change i have observed is the recent close down of Perry Marshal, a PPC Legend. This has made many people aware. All his Ads have not been approved and the Ads are graded so low that they never appear. You have to realize that Perry spends around $1 million dollars a year with Google. Why would they do that? Well that is the real question.
Google does around 20 Billion dollars a year in revenue a year. But there again even if this does not financially hurt them to a point they could not survive it, why do it?
Well time and time again Google has made the statement when contacted by individuals after they got their ads shutdown that MLM, direct sales and affiliate sales are not legitimate business. Again this is not an isolated case. It has happened time and time again. If you look at Perry Marshall's article on illegitimate Businesses, you will observe that this is not a one off.
Jim Yaghi, in his article 'Does Google hate Affiliate Advertisers?' talked about the many people who have been effected by Google's new practices. So people like us who are in the MLM business, will have to look for other options because Google no longer wants us to advertise with them.
A few months back i decided not to rely on Google mainly for the cost. In the long run the cost was not justified, though i had the cost per lead to less then $5 and i wanted many leads. Apart from Twitter which i am using, i started looking for other ways. I started a multi-tasking approach; started a blog, article writing and marketing on Facebook.I could grow 30-50 leads daily by using all of these techniques together with improvements in other techniques. On some days i have had more then 80 leads. I cannot say that all these are free leads because I use some safe lists that are paid subscriptions. They are almost free. From my safe list, the cost per lead comes to under a dollar which is crazy. I think by the end of my 1 year subscription I am going to see the cost per lead to be about 30 cents.
All this to say that if you are relying on PPC for your leads, you will need to change your mindset because that is only because they have not yet caught up to you but they will. You have to come up with other ways and i am happy i did.
