Packaging Freight For Transport In The Rain: Keeping Dry Is Easy!
You hate the rain and so do we, but that is probably because we work in it more than you do
. New Jersey delivery service is out there in rain, sleet, blizzard and flood, day or night, because we are always on the go. And because we never rest, we do our best to keep your packages safe, secure, warm and dry. But there are several things you can do to insure a moisture free delivery on your end of the business.
First of all, always use Government, federal or state regulated cardboard boxes and packages. These items should be approved for the size and weight of your shipment, and should have a label on them indicating that they have been pressure tested and meet the standard. We never say no to a customer, but something it is very hard to accept a cut rate box, with string instead of tape, because we know we may to rewrap it, or it will collapse at the first sign of rain!
Next, make sure your delivery item is insulated with papers, with colored Styrofoam or with some brand of cloth or paper wrapping. Once your item is secured, make sure to tape the box shut at every corner. Use clear tape, not duct tape or brown tape, since it may be necessary to read codes or lettering underneath the adhesive. Tape over the label as well; you do not want your address to run and blur in the downpour.
One method New Jersey delivery service has found to be effective, and an extra form of insurance against moisture, is to nest your insulated product in a small box, and then fit and insulate that box into a larger one. Duplicate and tape over the address on each box, just to be sure that the address is clearly labeled on both, then tape over the edges and seams on the larger box after settling the smaller one inside.
Once we actually have the box, there is virtually no chance of it getting soaked, or even wet, in a NJ shower; we pride ourselves on keeping our shipments safe in the warehouse, loaded in the warehouse and unpacked in the warehouse. Very little moisture ever gets in where we work; that comes later, when we take those wet ten seconds to deliver the package.
So if it rains on the day of your delivery, relax! You did your part to keep things dry!
