Paintball Masks Focus On Safety And Comfort
When it comes to playing paintball, choosing the right safety equipment is crucial
. The most obvious need is protective head gear. Wearing the right equipment keeps players safe and relatively clean. The most popular models are ones that consider player comfort and protection at the same time. A player cannot concentrate on strategy when he or she is concerned about annoying equipment or getting hurt.
Head Protection
The most important piece of equipment is the paintball mask. There are different types of paintball masks available with several styles to choose from. Certain clubs or groups have specific brands or requirements before a player can take the playing field.
The idea behind the paintball mask is to deflect bouncing ammunition so that the player is not injured in the head. The faceplate should be soft and comfortable enough to wear for hours, yet sturdy enough to take a hit.
Mouth Protection
A mouth guard prevents serious injuries to lips and teeth. When a paintball hits it, the material should give some, but prevent paintballs from invading or lifting the rest of the mask. Not only does paint taste bad, it is not healthy for consumption.
Breathability
Vents and baffles on the mask allows players to breath out without fogging up the goggles with moisture. On some models, it is easier to hear voices than others. For team players that need to communicate regularly, this is a necessary feature. For those that prefer to play as individuals against a number of others, voice projection does not much matter. Since inhaling splattered paintballs can be hazardous, the mask should prevent it from coming through the surface.
Head gear
Imagine being beamed in the ear without any protective gear. Ear pieces should be soft and comfortable, but only flexible enough to deflect a hit. They should not muffle sound, but need to prevent splatter.
Goggles are crucial to game strategy. The player must be able to see well while having being protected from explosions. While competitors do avoid aiming paintball guns toward the head and eye areas, sometimes it is unavoidable. The mask must be easy to clean afterwards to prevent long-term damage. Some goggles require special cleaners to prevent scratching. It is best to consult the product's packaging label for care and cleaning.
A visor or shield gives added protection and keeps paint from penetrating above the eyes, while the chin strap will help a player keep safety gear on during a rousing game of paintball.
