Pamela Landau has worked with individuals and families of all types for more than 30 years
. She has helped individuals and families in finding ways to set and attain goals. Her extensive work with step families is of special note. According to the National Stepfamily Resource Center (2008), step families face many challenges when it comes to relationships between children, parents, and step parents partially because of the undefined parental goals and roles. Family members might also compete for attention, money, privacy and territory which can lead to conflicts and unrest in the family. Pamela Landau helps families facing these difficulties learn to communicate effectively, to appreciate each other's differences and live amicably.

Through the years, Pamela Landau has worked with families to achieve positive results. She has counseled families, providing support and guidance. Pamela Landau also teaches at Eastern Michigan University. One of the most popular lecturers at the University, students attend her classes with great enthusiasm. She teaches the most difficult subjects in a very effective and clear manner. Pamela has also received the some of the highest student evaluations in the college of Arts and Sciences at EMU. She has been nominated for several awards by her students and fellow faculty members. She holds professional memberships in American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, American Psychological Association, American Psychological Association Division 43 Division of Family Psychology, Michigan Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, Michigan Counseling Association, Michigan Association of Professional Psychologists, International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, New York Academy of Sciences, and American Association for the Advancement of Science.
