Pay Per Download sites, do they ruin the Internet or are they a brilliant addition?

Pay Per Download of PPD sites are those that allow users to upload files and be paid every time a person downloads them

. The standard is that you are paid anywhere between $0.20 and $10 per download. They seem to be all over the internet recently and for very good reason. They offer a simple way for people to make money online.

It is a very simple concept really, normal download sites rely on premium membership sales and on page adverts to fund it's growth and reward members. Of these download site few pay the members that upload files because it just wouldn't be profitable to them and those that do pay will pay around $5 per 1000. This is why the new pay per download sites are successful. Because they introduced a profit model that rewards everyone adequately. Before a person is allowed to download a file they are presented with a number of offers and surveys they must complete, the ppd site is paid $0.50 and upwards for each completed offer or survey. When a survey is completed the advertiser pays the affiliate network & site and the PPD members are also given their cut. A brilliant idea.

There are few of these sites today and so when using them you won't be presented with much diversity or paticularly revolutionary features as there is no competition. But the sites are good enough to do their job. Of these sites the most successful seems to be Sharecash, I believe it was the first of these sites which would explain it's success.

Now all brilliant Ideas have their negatives, Sharecash experienced first hand the negative effects when presenting such a simple service. Because of the simplicity of these sites anybody with a PC could get involved and this resulted in many people who went about this in the wrong way. Introducing even more spam to our already spam ridden internet. Members of these services would go on sprees posting their download links on just about any site they could find and you can be sure people were furious, one site took action and effectively shut down Sharecash for a few days resulting in Sharecash being stricter with it's advertising policies.

Like all things there are positives and there are negatives. Sites like these allow people more options to earn money they likely need without the need for various qualifications. They are great options for at home mums or teenagers who need a little extra cash to fund college. But good things are always abused. I recommend you give sites like Sharecash a test run but I believe you should be one of the few who go about it professionally and with decency. Business is a serious thing.

I for one am hoping that there soon be a far better executed PPD site soon and will be making sure when it's around I am using it, I will definitely write about it on my own site the Internet Money Maker Hub as soon as I hear of it.
