decent working conditions and fair pay for those who sacrifice their lives to take care about sick people, other states cannot afford decent conditions for nurses, thus facing the reality of lack of employment in that field. Despite all hardships and complications with handling sick people, there are many nurses who love their job and who would have never changed it for anything else. It goes without saying that one is born to be a nurse, while others are not. So, what factors play a decisive role in choosing a nursing career, and how can one understand whether he or she suits the job or not?

1. Being a nurse means being always surrounded with life and death, grief and drama. Nurses usually have to take care about patients who are in a complicated state, which means they cannot walk and sometimes even talk. The nurse thus becomes the first person to be near the patient, to cater for his varied needs, to support him or her and to help him/her recover.

2. Nurses often have to communicate with the patients family and inform them about the state of health of the latter. They need to be careful mediators as sometimes the information is not promising, and the family may be in despair. Even knowing that things get worse, the nurse has to find words of encouragement, but at the same time try to communicate the situation in a realistic way. Thus, nurses have to possess high spirituality in communication with all parties.

3. Nurses have to be very attentive because they have to call the doctor or emergency when the patient feels worse. In case there is some delay in medical help, the patient may die, so nurses also handle serious responsibilities.
