Philippines is now known internationally as the capital for call centers. It is competing with India, because India is also booming in the call center industry. Being a call center agent is a reputable job, for other who don't know. There are times when people stereotype this industry as a place for people who can't find any other job. This is the ugly assumption, not everyone knows the hard work call center agents do. Not everyone knows that being a call center agent helps families at the same time alleviate poverty in the country.

When you look at job ads, Philippine call centers are always on top of the list. Why? Because there are many benefits and advantages of being in a call center. First, the pay is definitely high. Compared to other entry jobs, salary in call center is higher. Well the reason could be because of the night shift, also known as graveyard shift. Second, the job is in demand. Many call centers in the Philippines are in need of agents. This allows the country to have less unemployed citizens. This obviously alleviate poverty and provide more jobs. Lastly, even though you didn't finish college, you can be an agent. The opportunity is available to anyone above 18 years old who knows how to communicate well and deal with other people.

However, there are disadvantages in working for Philippine call centers. One disadvantage could be risking your health. Since it is most of the time graveyard shift, you have to adjust your schedule and stay up until early morning like a vampire. Also, time with family is lessened now.
