Perhaps less exciting for children but just as educational is the Philip Island important bird area where many important species of bird life including short-tailed shearwaters and Pacific gulls.

Wildlife isn't the only educational facet of Philip Island however. Also very good for teaching a range of important concepts is the impressive Geography of Philip Island where you can find some strange rock formations (particularly around the beaches). This is also great for hiking and walking meaning that it's a great way to keep school children fit and healthy too.

Philip Island is visited by 3.5 million tourists every year which is a great indicator of just how much there is to see and do there. All good excursions for schools should also have a fun element and this is a great way for the children on the trips to bond and to make sure that they listen during the educational parts. There are some great beaches for these purposes that your children can enjoy and this is particularly great for surfing as Philip Island has some of the very best surf. On top of this if you really want to spoil the children then why not take them to the race track where they can enjoy the Grand Prix.

Any excursion is always going to be beneficial for children. It gets them outside and exercising, it break ups their usual routine and injects some new excitement into their working week and it's great for bonding. Philip Island though with its range of wildlife and things to see is going to be even more beneficial than most.
