Most aftershaves contain alcohol the alcohol is said to help close pores and prevent irritation. However, alcohol based aftershave may sometimes be too strong for certain skins, and may contribute to razor burn'. To avoid this, alcohol free products are available, which contain soothing plant ingredients such as aloe and seaweed extracts. These products mostly come in the form of gels and creams, whereas alcohol based aftershaves are mostly in a liquid form. For men who are concerned about their skin drying, alcohol free aftershave should be used.

Cost- You get what you pay for. If you are willing to pay more, you will get more and if you pay less, you will get less. Aftershave can be affordable, but there are many good designer brands out there which are rather costly. You are either given a change to buy a random unheard of aftershave for a very low price, or an extremely expensive product with vigorous testing', superior aftershave technology' and fashion designers names on it.
