Pit Bull Puppies

Pit bull puppies are one of the cutest breeds of dogs

, especially when they're young. They have a scrunched up looking body, yet stand firm and strong despite their small size. Simply put, their personality paired with their appearance melts the hearts of many children and adults alike. While this breed may look cute, it takes a very specific type of owner and lifestyle to raise a pit bull properly.

Pit bull puppies, even more than any other breed, need responsible owners. By nature, pit bulls are very friendly and family oriented, however they can become aggressive very quickly if they're place in abusive situations. For example, when training a pit bull, you should never hit it. This is true with all breeds of dogs, however pit bulls are likely to become aggressive much faster if they grow up in that environment.

Pit bulls are also very territorial and, like Dalmatians, are one of the few breeds that dont do well with other pets. If you already have a dog, it's highly recommended that you avoid adopting pit bull puppies. If you absolutely must have two dogs sharing the same space, the two must be of opposite genders. You should never have three or more pets when one is a pit bull because they are simply too territorial and value their own personal space.

You should avoid adopting pit bull puppies if you're looking for a guard or watch dog. When raised in the proper environment, pit bulls do neither. Rather, they are great with children and people and love attention. The violent behavior that is often heard about in the news is only a result of severe abuse and neglect. A pit bull will only turn this way if his owner has failed him, therefore, if you're looking for a guard dog, consider a Rhodesian ridgeback, Chow chow, or Rottweiler instead.

Pit bulls are highly intelligent and require a great deal of physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. If you're unable to provide this for your dog, it's recommended you go with another breed. While not required, many experts recommend that you should only adopt a pit bull if you have a large enough yard for them to play in constantly. You should never under any circumstances allow your pit bull to run free. Because the breed is so territorial, they can get into fights with other animals, harming themselves and others in the process.

If not given the proper time and attention, pit bulls will become restless and begin to act out for attention, similar to how young Golden retrievers act if left unattended for too long. It's not uncommon for pit bull puppies to chew up anything they can get their paws on. This is often done out of frustration when not receiving the proper care. Overall, this breed is a challenge to raise, however if you think you're up to, you will be rewarded with a loving companion for life.
