Planning A Move To Canada? Let's Take A Look At What It Is You Need
f you're considering a move to Canada on a permanent basis
, but haven't yet looked into the process in any great depth, there are several pieces of information you need to understand before you go any further.
To start with, the very first decision you need to make is how you're going to carry out Canada immigration. We're not talking about deciding between flying from the UK and going over on a boat, but the actual visa application.
For instance, there are four primary ways to receive a permanent residency visa for Canada - you can move over as a skilled worker; an entrepreneur (or businessperson); to live with your parents or other close family members or to take advantage of a Provincial Nominee programme.
Depending on which one you choose depends on what information you require and what factors you need to keep in mind (taking the skilled worker option as an example, you need to not only be vocationally qualified and experienced, but your skills generally need to match those that are in need by the country).
Then there's the fees for the whole process, which can vary from being a minimum of 1,040 CAD, which would cover the fee for a skilled worker (550 CAD) and then their Right of Permanent Residency fee (490 CAD) right through to several thousands of Canadian dollars if you were applying as an entrepreneur with your spouse, two children over the age of 22 and two under that age (for the entrepreneur it would cost 1,050 CAD, 550 CAD each for their partner and two children over the age of 22, 150 CAD each for the two children under the age of 22 and then four Right of Permanent Residency fees for the main applicant and the three other people over the age of 22, which is a grand total of 4,410 CAD).
What you must also keep in mind is that just because you fit into one visa application area, doesn't mean that it's guaranteed you will be accepted and you have to do everything you can to give your application the best chance possible.
Gaining an offer of employment in Canada is a great way of doing this, as it shows the Canadian government that you aren't likely to require financial support from them in any major way.
In addition, being fit and healthily plays a major part, as all applicants for Canada immigration are required to undergo a medical examination, which can include everything from a typical physical exam to blood and urine tests and should they be required, x-rays (it's worthwhile noting here that the applicant would be expected to pay for any medical examinations).
Moving to Canada is something that many people aspire to do, but which a lot don't manage to carry out, often because they aren't fully aware of the application process. By understanding the process fully, you can ensure that your application is given the best chance it can possibly have as being accepted, hopefully allowing you to become a permanent resident in the country.
