Men are the ones really difficult to shop for, after all what do you gift them! Thinking birthday gift ideas for men, females often have jitters wondering what could they gift the important men in their life? I was personally bored of gifting shirts, wallets and cufflinks but a slightly unusual birthday gift idea on my dad's last birthday kept me wondering why I didn't think this way before!

My dad loves gardening. He is really fond of spending several hours in the backyard nurturing long potted shrubs, herbs and other plants. He has a huge collection of several indoor and outdoor plants, adding purified air to our home. Thinking on the same grounds, I decided to gift him a nicely potted exotic flower's plant he had been looking for a while. I got it delivered by an online florist who arranged the exotic planted flowers delivery, same day on his birthday.

Well of course, my dad loved it completely and found it way better than receiving any other material gift. He agreed that the best way to gift flowers for birthday is to gift them alive, potted as an evergreen plant. Ever since my birthday gift ideas for men always include planted shrubs, herbs or flowers for the matter. Here, I have compiled an easy list for you to choose the appropriate indoor plant that you can gift to your loved ones.

Lady Palm

For those who forget to water their plants, a Lady Palm is an ideal solution. With beautiful fan-shaped leaves, Lady Palm is a slow growing and long-lasting indoor plant that can adopt to a wide range of soil conditions.

Chinese Bamboo Palm

A Chinese Bamboo Palm also known as lucky bamboo is in fact a member of lily family, usually grown in water. You can grow it in a glass bowl or container with water and pebbles inside. Pebbles will help plant stand erect. It doesn't require much care but you must change its water once in a week and only use distilled or bottled water for water it. You must also clean its pebbles to prevent mold and algae from growing.

Rubber Plant

Scientifically known as Ficus Elastica, a Rubber Plant is sturdy and stays afresh for many years. Since it doesn't need any direct sunlight, it is ideal for office complexes or for placing indoors with either indirect or fluorescent light.

Ficus Alii

With long, narrow dark green down hung leaves, Ficus Alii is a beautiful slender plant. As it needs a little sunlight, you must keep it in sunlight once in two days at least. Ficus Alii can be rooted from tip cuttings with rooting hormone.
