The longest conveyor system running on a single belt anywhere runs nearly 11 miles from India to Bangladesh. It brings shale and limestone from an Indian quarry to a Bangladesh cement factory.

A conveyor is used for sorting, dispensing, labeling, identifying with bar codes and similar IDs, inspecting, stacking and accumulating, merging, diverting, counting, and in other ways guiding the ongoing organized production of the company's products. Without a conveyor system to automate and organize the process, manual assembly would produce only a small fraction of the product possible with the conveyor. Without plate magnets, the conveyor system just might not work for long. Food, plastic products, chemicals, electronics and just about any manufactured item anyone can think of comes down a conveyor belt at some point in its production, and is created error-free in part thanks to plate magnets.

Plate magnets are made of a stainless steel, a strong and durable material. They are designed to swing away from the conveyor easily to be cleaned manually or with an automated process. High-volume manufacturers generally choose to suspend their plate magnets above the conveyor belt. This catches impurities before the manufactured item starts its way down the chute. The manufacturer can choose from a wide variety of sizes and shapes of suspended plate magnets, which they then mount with either eye bolts or thread bolts with the help of chains or cables. If a product is mass produced it uses a conveyor system at some point. To do so safely, efficiently and cost-effectively it needs plate magnets.
