Plenty Of Features With The Lexmark X6650 Inkjet Printer.

The X6650 does not take up a lot of room with or without the paper trays open

. The design is quite tasteful in silver and black and is easily cleaned. The rear-loading paper tray can hold as many as 100 pages of paper and the output tray will hold up to 25 pages of standard weight paper.

The X6650's card reader will work with many different types of card including SD Memory Card, SDHC, Micro SD, MultiMedia Card (v4.1), MultiMediaCard Plus (v4.1), RS-MMC, Compact Flash Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick Pro Duo, xD-Picture Card, xD-Picture Card (Type M) and xD-Picture Card (Type H). Mini memory cards can also be used with the appropriate adaptor. The X6650 also has a PictBridge port.

The X6650 is easy to get ready and it does not take long to do so. The two cartridges go in the space under the scanner/copier and the power cord connects at the back left side. The software for the X6650 can be loaded onto your computer with ease.

The X6650 will accommodate two different capacities of in cartridge. The 36 standard black will do an estimated 175 pages and the standard 37 150 pages. The high yield XL cartridges are better value at estimated prints of 475 and 500 pages respectively. Also available for the X6650 is a photo cartridge (no. 31) which will let you print higher quality photos.

The X6650 is a simple well, well thought out machine in use.

Using normal print quality mode on plain paper the X6650 printed a page of standard text with a colour logo in 22 seconds. Text print quality was pretty good , colour graphics were vivid with little banding in light areas although banding did become more noticeable the darker the print area.

Photos printed on the X6650 were quite decent on a number of different papers although the quality from a dedicated photo printer was noticeably better.

Unfortunately the X6650 proved to be a disappointing copier with faint, washed-out text and pale, heavily banded colours.

The Lexmark X6650 is cheap and has plenty of features. For the money it isn't a bad buy but if you are willing to spend a bit more you will get better value for money.
