Pole Dancing for Increased Fitness
Using a pole for dancing has always been associated with strip teases and shady night clubs
. It seems to be these days that cliche is a thing of the past. People are now using the dance pole for exercise and actual competitions. Many different groups are trying to get the sport of pole dancing to be recognized as a legitimate sport and are taking it to extreme levels.
Many believe the use of the pole for exercise is a complete body workout and excellent for the abs. If you go to a strip club and watch the girls that dance on these poles, you will notice that they are in excellent condition and usually have a very tight core. The next thing you will see is these poles in gyms and women working out on them. It will be like going to the strip club for free. No matter if the woman who is working out on the pole is trying to be sexual or not, there will still be that sense of a sexy stripper dancing on a pole.
Some groups are taking the sport to higher levels with competition dancing where multiple poles and sometimes teams of five or more people may be dancing at once. One example of this type of pole dancing is the Cirque de Solei. If you have ever watched these performers you will notice that the dancers are in excellent condition and are very strong. It takes very precise muscle control to do some of these maneuvers.
The normal person who is in excellent health and exercises daily probably could not perform these dances on the poles without more training. These moves can also be dangerous if performed incorrectly. It is not recommended to just go out and climb a pole without some kind of training.
In all, it is evident that using some form of a pole as a part of your workout can be very beneficial, not only for muscle tone, but also for balance. It takes a great deal of effort to learn but the benefits will be life changing as far as your physical fitness and all around balance of mind and body. So go out today and try your hand at some form of pole dancing, who knows you may like it and be the next cirque dancer!
