Ford has been producing the Fiesta since 1976 and it has touched many of our lives throughout this time. It is a front wheel drive super-mini built at Ford plants all over the world including Europe, Brazil and India. I still remember my uncle had a red Ford Fiesta in Edinburgh; it was a 1980 model, had 3 doors and hauled around his family of 7 for many years.

As I have grown up, so has the Fiesta, it has defiantly been getting better with age, Ford has successfully been updating the Fiesta to keep up with the changing needs of consumers as well as safety requirements.

My sister currently own a sixth generation Fiesta, the newest Fiesta is a Global model so was released in the states and Canada in the same guise as we find in the UK. The little Fiesta comes with a few engine choices including two diesel models. In the petrol range there is the 59bhp or 80bhp 1.25 litre unit, then there is the 95 bhp 1.4 litre, the largest petrol unit is the 1.6 litre that produces 118bhp.

When it comes to ride and handling the Fiesta handles considerably differently depending on which out of the two models you go for. In essence there is a choice of two suspension setups, the cushy normal set up on the standard Fiesta and the firmer, sportier set up on the Zetec S.

Ford has done very well in refining the Fiesta to make occupants feel like they are in a much bigger car, the engines are extremely smooth, and there's only a hint of wind noise down the side of the car at 70mph.
