Now this is slightly tricky because why do we do certain things that bring back unpleasant memories into our minds? One reason is that most of us enjoy that spooky feeling when we scare someone or when they get scared. Think of the moments when somebody scares you. Dont you get that feeling of thrill deep within? What actually happens with when we watch a horror movie is that it sends a series of signals to the cerebral cortex which is a part of our brain.

As a result numerous chemical reactions occur inside our mind. It is actually fun to hold someones arms tightly and experience that spine tingling sensation. There are lots of other things apart from movies that arouse thrill and excitement. It could be reading a story book or a going for a ride in an amusement park for that instance. Thats one of the key reasons why tiny tots go for fairy tales. The demons and fictional monsters bring about that sensation deep within. Research has been conducted and it has been found out that you can experience fear and joy at the same time. Finding it hard to believe? Well, its true.

What happens when weak hearted people watch horror movies? Have you ever wondered? It can be very thrilling to watch a horror movie with your friends or among a crowd of people in a theatre. However we might not have the courage deep within us to watch the movie on our own. One of the key reasons why people are willing to spend their time to watch such movies is that it brings them a great sense of relief at the end. When weak hearted people watch such movies, they gradually develop a fear that stops them from going out in the dark. This is not a good practice. The fear that grips you as a kid gradually holds on to you even when you grow up into an adult.

Horror movies have greatly evolved with the changing times. Earlier it was only the makeup which people used as a technique. Now times have changed. Technology has evolved to a great extent. With so many advancements mind chilling graphics have sensationalized the whole concept. The flip-side of watching such movies is anxiety among kids. Another major impact of these movies is lack of sleep. People might spend several sleepless nights imagining that similar situations might happen to them. They might remain in this state of mind for a week or even for one whole year. It depends upon their mindset.

Some of them develop the fear of death and imagine so many things happening to them. There are some who consider themselves machos and heroes because they are capable of watching such movies. My husband Kevin is the perfect example for such an individual. He bullies me at times. Its funny but true. On the other hand there are some who dont enjoy the experience. You can blame it all on the hormones. When you realize that something is spooky and yet it is not going to affect you, your mind is well equipped to enjoy the situation. The adequate level of hormones in your body facilitates the whole process. When there are not enough hormones secreted, your mind does not enjoy the experience. The positive impact of horror movies is that you will be able to handle pressure and risky scenarios easily. So the next time you view a movie on one of your favorite movie channels, you know what is happening within you!
