I think many people get confused about what postcard marketing really is
. The sole purpose of postcard marketing is to generate leads. That's it. You mail your postcards to a targeted list of buyers in hopes of getting those people to take action by visiting your website or calling your information number. The more people you get to take action, the more leads you generate, which means the more money you'll make.
I get so sick of people who think just because they mailed out a few hundred postcards that the money should just start pouring in. That is far from the truth and the actual truth is that postcard marketing is not a quick sale process, so don't expect immediate sales whenever you start a postcard campaign. You shouldn't expect immediate sales because it has been proven that a person must seen an offer at least five times before making a purchase. Therefore, you must have an automated email auto responder system in place to follow up with everyone who visits your website from your postcards. The more follow up emails you send your prospects the more likely you are to convert them into sales.
When I first started with postcard marketing I was more concerned with how many sales I made instead of focusing on generating leads and building my email list. This backwards thinking is what made me feel like I was failing with my postcard campaigns when I was actually having success because my opt-in rate was way above industry average.
After speaking to my personal mentor and marketing coach he explained to me that the money was in the list. He told me that I should only focus on generating leads and as long as I generated leads, the sales would come. I was told to let my auto responder do all of the selling for me. It was at that point I switched my way of thinking and began to reap the financial benefits from my postcard campaigns.
If you're a failing postcard marketer is important that you understand what postcard marketing really is and what it is that postcards are supposed to do. Once you come to realize what it really is your success will come.
