Power To Conquer Your Problems

We get the word "dynamite" from power

We get the word "dynamite" from power. That's where it comes from. They moved with dynamus, they moved with great, great power. And then the Bible says, "and the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection". This power cannot be manufactured. This is not an Anthony Robbins seminar type power. This is true power. And I know what you're saying. You're saying, "Ed, power? What is this resurrection power?" It's power to change your personality. Resurrection power is power to change your personality. In fact, the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that when a person becomes a Christian, they become a new person inside. It's power to change your personality.

It's also power to conquer your problems. Did you hear that? Resurrection power to conquer your problems. The Bible says in Romans 8:35 that we are more than conquerors if we've experienced the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. The Bible also tells us in Coiossians 3:19 that we have the resurrection power to cancel the past. He has forgiven all of our sins and cancelled every record of debt we need to pay. You can't beat a deal like this. There's no way. Are you experiencing the resurrection power? The same power that brought Christ back from the grave is available to you and to me. I think if that power is potent enough to bring Christ back, it's potent enough to handle your problems in relationships at the office, at school. It really is.

Ed Young tells us that the last thing that the resurrected Lord gave Peter was grace. I'm talking about amazing grace! Continue reading in verse 33. It says, "They moved with great grace. Great was upon their lives". What's the word "grace"? I define grace as God's second chance. God gives us a second chance every day but the true second chance was when we blew it, we didn't deserve it and God loved you and me unconditionally and we mattered to Him so much that He commissioned His Son to pay the price on the cross for all of our sins. You see, when we look at the bloodstained cross, when we look at the empty tomb, we ought to be reminded, we ought to be rocked to our core that something that horrendous had to happen to God's Son to take care of our sin problem. When someone is executed, we say, "Oh, he/she must have done something horrible!" When you look at the empty tomb and the cross, think about sin because sin is horrible in the sight of the Lord. However, He couldn't stand the thought of people He loved being apart so He did something about it and Peter understood that grace. So did the disciples, and they gave that grace, that unconditional love to others. I'm challenging you this morning - look into the eyes of the resurrected Lord. Your life, my life, will never be the same because people will say, "Look, there's a man, there's a woman of courage, with power and with grace. There's a man, there's a woman and they have been in contact with and they know the gospel.
