Pray Continually And Stay Connected To God – Part 2
Pray Continually And Stay Connected To God Part 2
One secret to praying better is to emphasize God's will and not your will. His will for our life is all recorded in the bible, which is the manual for our life. His Word tells us in 1 John 5:14, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." If you align your prayers to His will and pray in accordance to His Word, He will listen.
You can be certain that God will give you a definite answer, if you pray in accordance with HIS Word and HIS will for your life. It is very important that we allow God's will to be done in our lives. We need to put our own agenda aside and concentrate on God's agenda, as laid out in His Word. Apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonians and urged them to "pray without ceasing." 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
As we travel along life's rugged road, commune with the Father continually. Spending time with God each day can bring relief from stress. Cultivate a habit of spending quality time with Him in praise, worship and prayer. Lean on the Lord in order to keep your life in balance. God is never too busy to listen to us and He likes to hear from us.
Whenever we are ready to talk, the Lord is always ready to listen to us. The bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." When we pray, we must not see how God is working or understand how He will give us what we prayed for. Our part is to pray and His part is to listen and give us answers to our prayers.
Sometimes, we may remember a situation when God answered our prayers in an amazing way and we want Him to do the same again. But God may have something else or something better in mind. His answers to our prayers may exceed our expectations in many ways. The purpose of prayer is not to get what we want, but to become what God wants, as we submit to His ways. We need to allow God to examine our mind and heart; and walk in His truth.
God's answers are wiser than our prayers and we need to have faith that trusts Him to do His work, in His way, not our way. Our Lord Jesus was submissive to His father's way and will. Just beforeHe was arrested to be crucified for our sin, He prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." Luke 22:42. We need to follow our Lord's example and submit to God always, as we pray.
God delights in the earnest prayers of His people and answers in His own sovereign way. When trials come and God seems far away, remember that you are just one prayer from connecting with the God of the universe. As we pray for ourselves, let us also intercede for our loved ones as well. God requires us to stand in the gap for our brethren and intercessory prayer is life's real work.
PRAYER OF SALVATION
If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen."
Congratulations, if you have prayed this prayer. Please look for a Bible-believing church, to fellowship with the brethren. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if I can be of any assistance to you. Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.
